Beta Platform Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 13, 2026

1. Introduction

Beta Platform (“Beta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects users’ privacy and strives to protect personal data and handle it responsibly and transparently.

This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal data Beta may collect, why it collects such data, how the data may be used, protected, shared, retained, and deleted, and the rights users may have under applicable law.

The platform is operated by Money Card. The full legal name of the responsible legal entity, its registration details, and its official address must be completed before publication, where applicable.

Beta is available through its website and mobile applications and serves users in multiple countries worldwide. Data collection, processing, transfer, and deletion practices may therefore vary depending on the user’s location and applicable legal requirements.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to personal data collected or processed when users:

  • Create an account, log in, or manage their profiles.
  • Use the website or mobile applications.
  • Use social networking features.
  • Publish text, images, videos, or comments.
  • Send or receive private messages or attach files to messages.
  • Interact with users, posts, pages, or groups.
  • Complete identity verification procedures.
  • Submit reports, complaints, or support requests.
  • Use other features associated with the platform.

Third-party services accessed through links on Beta may be governed by separate privacy policies. The providers of those services are responsible for explaining their own data practices under applicable law.

3. Types of Data We May Collect

Depending on the features used and applicable legal requirements, Beta may collect the following categories of data.

A. Account Information

This may include a user's name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth or age, profile picture, and other information the user chooses to add to their profile.

B. Content Data

This may include posts, images, videos, comments, messages, attachments, and other content provided through the platform, together with information associated with creating, publishing, and managing that content.

C. Identity Verification Data

Beta may ask users to provide an accepted identity document, such as a national identity card or passport, when necessary for verification and security purposes.

Such documents may contain names, photographs, document numbers, dates of birth, expiration dates, and other printed information.

Beta’s team reviews identity documents submitted for verification. The platform aims to collect only the information necessary for the stated purpose, subject to applicable law.

D. Technical and Security Data

Depending on the technologies actually used, technical and security data may include:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
  • Device, browser, and operating system information.
  • Login and session records.
  • Error and performance information.
  • Device or application identifiers, where used.
  • Data necessary to protect accounts and detect suspicious activity.

E. Communication and Support Data

This may include complaints, inquiries, reports, correspondence with the support team, and information necessary to investigate or resolve a request.

F. Usage Data

This may include interactions with platform features, such as posting, commenting, liking, sharing, reporting, and using messaging features, to the extent necessary to provide, secure, and improve the service in accordance with applicable law.

G. Device Permissions and Related Data

The website or mobile application may process information associated with permissions granted by users, such as access to photos, the camera, files, or location, if these permissions are used by platform features.

Such information is used to provide or operate the requested feature in accordance with the actual permissions and settings. Beta does not claim to collect location data, contacts, or other information unless the relevant functionality is actually used.

4. Why We Collect Identity Documents

Beta may request identity documents for the following purposes:

  • Verifying that an account belongs to a real person.
  • Reducing fake accounts and impersonation.
  • Preventing fraud and misuse of the platform.
  • Protecting users against certain forms of deception and identity theft.
  • Investigating suspected account abuse or violations.
  • Meeting applicable legal requirements.

Requesting an identity document does not guarantee that all fraud or impersonation will be prevented.

Before collecting such documents, Beta must consider the availability of an appropriate legal basis, the necessity and proportionality of the process, the information that must be provided to users, and any applicable requirements concerning consent, age verification, or the protection of minors.

Where a less intrusive verification method can reasonably achieve the same purpose, it should be considered before additional data is collected.

5. Identity Document Review, Protection, and Deletion

Beta’s team reviews identity documents submitted by users for verification purposes. This process does not assume the use of an external identity verification company.

Identity document images are not displayed on public profiles or made available to other users. Access is restricted to authorized team members who need the documents to complete verification or address a legitimate related matter.

Deletion of Identity Documents Within 7 Days

Beta undertakes to delete images of identity documents submitted for verification, including national identity cards and passports, within seven days after the identity verification process has been completed.

This commitment applies to identity document images collected for this purpose, subject to any applicable legal obligation or other lawful basis that permits additional retention.

Copies held in systems and backups are handled in accordance with applicable technical deletion procedures and backup deletion cycles, subject to relevant legal requirements.

If a legal obligation requires a particular document to be retained for an additional period, retention will be limited to the extent and duration permitted or required by that legal basis, with access appropriately restricted.

Beta may retain limited verification-related information separately from identity document images, such as verification status or the date of verification, where necessary for account operations, platform security, or compliance with a legal obligation, and only to the extent and for the period permitted by law.

Retaining verification status or a verification date does not mean that Beta retains a copy of the identity card or passport.

6. How We Use Data

Depending on the circumstances and applicable legal basis, Beta may use personal data to:

  • Create, manage, and maintain user accounts.
  • Verify identities when lawfully required.
  • Enable users to publish content and interact with others.
  • Operate private messaging and social features.
  • Display content according to platform settings and privacy controls.
  • Protect accounts, detect suspicious activity, and prevent fraud.
  • Receive reports and review potentially violating content.
  • Provide support and respond to inquiries.
  • Process requests to access, correct, or delete personal data.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and improve performance and security.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
  • Protect the legal rights of the platform and its users where a lawful basis exists.

Personal data should not be used for a new purpose incompatible with the original purpose unless applicable legal requirements are satisfied, including obtaining additional consent where required.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Beta processes personal data on an appropriate legal basis, depending on the country and the nature of the processing. Where permitted by law, these bases may include:

  • The user's consent.
  • The necessity of performing a contract or taking steps requested before entering into a contract.
  • Compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Protection of vital interests where permitted by law.
  • Legitimate interests, where permitted by law and following an appropriate assessment of the user's rights and interests.
  • Any other legal basis recognized under applicable law.

Consent is not automatically the legal basis for every processing activity. Identity data must not be used without an appropriate legal basis merely because a user has created an account.

Where the law requires explicit or separate consent for a particular processing activity, Beta must obtain consent in the required manner.

8. Content Visibility and Privacy

Some posts may be publicly accessible when users choose to publish them publicly. Other posts or information may be limited to a specific audience according to the platform's available settings.

Users should review audience settings before publishing content and avoid sharing information they do not wish to make available to others.

Publishing public content does not mean that a user has consented to the public disclosure of identity documents, confidential information, or data that is not necessary to provide the service.

Access to, deletion of, or restrictions on content remain subject to available platform features, applicable legal obligations, and the legitimate rights of others.

9. Private Messaging Between Users

Beta provides private messaging features that allow users to communicate with one another. Depending on the available functionality, messages may contain text, images, and file attachments.

Message data may be processed as necessary to provide and operate the messaging service, protect accounts, investigate reports or misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Users should avoid sending highly sensitive information, identity documents, or financial information to other users through messages unless doing so is necessary and appropriate security measures are available.

Authorized moderation personnel or other authorized individuals may access specific message content when necessary to investigate a report, address misuse, or comply with a legal obligation, subject to applicable permissions, procedures, and law.

This Policy does not represent that messages are end-to-end encrypted. Beta makes no such guarantee unless that feature is actually implemented and verified.

The retention and deletion of messages depend on the platform's available functionality, legal obligations, and the rights of other participants. Deleting one user's account may not automatically remove every copy of a message previously delivered to another user, unless the platform is specifically designed to do so.

10. Sharing Data With Third Parties

Beta does not sell users' personal data to advertisers as personal data, and identity documents are not publicly shared.

Certain data may be shared, to the extent necessary and permitted by law, with:

  • Hosting, infrastructure, maintenance, operations, and security providers.
  • Technical support providers and services necessary to operate the platform.
  • Other service providers where reasonably necessary to deliver the service.
  • Legal advisers and professional consultants where legitimately necessary.
  • Competent government or judicial authorities when disclosure is legally required.
  • Other parties where the user has provided valid consent or another appropriate legal basis exists.

Beta's team reviews identity documents directly under the platform's verification procedures. This does not rule out technical processing by hosting providers, so access permissions for stored files must be appropriately controlled and any technical access must be assessed.

Service providers must not receive more data than they need to perform their assigned tasks.

Where an external data processor is engaged, appropriate contractual safeguards should address processing purposes, confidentiality, security, retention periods, deletion, and incident handling.

11. International Data Transfers and Hosting

Some Beta user data may be hosted or processed inside or outside Egypt, depending on the technical infrastructure and services used to operate the website and mobile applications.

This may involve transferring or making certain data available from another country, including account information, content, or technical data, depending on the services used.

Beta takes applicable cross-border data transfer requirements into account and aims to apply the safeguards required under the laws applicable to users and data recipients.

Access granted to service providers or authorized parties is limited to what is necessary to provide the service or achieve a legitimate purpose, subject to applicable confidentiality, security, and data protection requirements.

Beta should identify hosting locations and entities that may receive data and provide users with the information required by applicable law.

12. Data Security

Beta seeks to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure, or misuse.

Depending on the actual technical infrastructure, appropriate measures may include access controls, restrictions on access to identity documents, protection of data during transmission and storage, access reviews, system updates, and incident response procedures.

Any statements about security measures must accurately reflect the measures actually implemented by the platform.

No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. This does not exempt Beta from implementing security measures required by applicable law.

13. Data Retention

Beta retains personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal obligations and users' rights.

Images of identity documents submitted for verification are deleted within seven days after verification is completed, as described in Section 5, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

Retention periods for account data, content, messages, security logs, technical data, and backups depend on the purpose of collection, the nature of the data, applicable legal requirements, and the technical procedures in place.

Beta should establish clear retention periods or criteria for each category of data, including account information, content, messages, security logs, and backups, before final publication of this Policy.

When the purpose for retaining data has expired and no lawful basis for further retention exists, the data will be deleted, destroyed, or appropriately anonymized.

14. Account Deletion and Deletion of Associated Data

Beta allows users to request deletion of their accounts and associated personal data through its dedicated account deletion page.

Account deletion page:

https://lookbeta.com/setting/delete-account

Users may visit the link above, follow the instructions provided on the account deletion page, and confirm the deletion request using the steps available on the platform.

Users may also access the account deletion option within the mobile application if that functionality is available, and follow the instructions provided to submit their request.

Once a deletion request is confirmed, Beta begins the process of deleting the account and associated data from active systems in accordance with its deletion procedures and applicable legal requirements.

Data Covered by Account Deletion

Depending on the nature of the data, the systems used, available technical capabilities, and applicable law, deletion may include:

  • Account and profile information, including the user's name, username, profile picture, and associated contact information.
  • Posts, images, videos, comments, and content created by the user.
  • Account-related interaction data, to the extent it can lawfully and technically be deleted.
  • Identity document images and verification data that no longer have a lawful basis for retention, subject to the commitment to delete identity document images within seven days after verification.
  • Data associated with private messages, to the extent permitted by platform functionality and other users' legitimate rights.
  • Other personal data associated with the account that is no longer legitimately required.

Consequences of Account Deletion

Deleting an account may result in the loss of access to the account, profile, and associated content. Users are therefore encouraged to review important information and save a copy before confirming deletion, if this option is available.

Users should review any information displayed on the deletion page before confirming their request, including the consequences of deletion and any applicable limited legal exceptions.

Limited Retention of Certain Data

Beta may retain limited data after an account deletion request where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, address an existing dispute, prevent fraud, or protect legal rights, provided that an appropriate legal basis exists and retention is limited to what is necessary in scope and duration.

Removing data from backups and system logs may require additional time in accordance with the applicable secure deletion cycle. Access to data awaiting deletion must be restricted, and such data must not be used for new purposes incompatible with the reason for temporary retention.

Beta does not retain identity documents merely because they were previously collected if the purpose has ended and no lawful basis for continued retention exists.

If the Account Deletion Page Is Unavailable

If a user cannot access the account deletion page or complete the deletion process, the user may contact Beta through its privacy email address:

look@lookbeta.com

The user should explain that the request concerns account deletion and provide only the information necessary to verify account ownership. Users should not send identity documents or additional personal data unless specifically necessary and appropriately requested.

Beta handles deletion requests according to its procedures and the time limits required by applicable law. Where required, Beta will explain any material legal exceptions affecting the deletion of certain data.

15. User Rights

Depending on the law applicable to the user, users may have the right to:

  • Know whether Beta processes their personal data.
  • Request access to their data or obtain a copy.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion where the legal conditions for deletion are met.
  • Withdraw consent for processing based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing performed before withdrawal.
  • Object to certain processing activities or request restriction where permitted by law.
  • Request data portability where applicable.
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
  • Request review of certain automated decisions or object to them where applicable legal rights exist.

Exercising these rights may require verification of the requester's identity and may be subject to legal exceptions. Identity verification must not be used as a justification for collecting unnecessary additional data.

Users may submit requests through the privacy email address or other official communication channels published by Beta. Requests will be handled within the time limits required by applicable law.

16. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the service, secure sessions, remember preferences, or measure performance, where such technologies are actually used.

Where applicable law requires consent before non-essential cookies or certain tracking technologies are activated, that consent must be obtained before activation.

The types, purposes, durations, and third-party providers of these technologies should be explained in a separate notice or settings interface where required.

17. Advertising and Analytics

If Beta displays advertisements or uses analytics tools, it should explain how those tools operate, what data they process, and which parties receive that data, based on actual configurations and applicable law.

Beta must not claim that it does not use tracking or share data for advertising purposes unless that statement is technically and operationally accurate.

Users' rights to consent, object, or modify their preferences must be respected where required by law.

18. Children's Privacy

Beta sets a minimum age of 16, subject to local laws that may establish a higher minimum age or impose specific requirements concerning parental consent or the processing of minors' data.

Data belonging to minors, including identity documents, must not be collected or processed in a manner that violates applicable law. Appropriate measures should be taken when a user is found not to meet the applicable age requirements.

If data relating to a minor is collected in violation of applicable legal requirements, the situation will be reviewed and appropriate corrective or deletion measures will be taken in accordance with the law.

19. Reports, Complaints, and Privacy Violations

Users may report privacy violations, impersonation, or unauthorized publication of personal data through the available reporting tools or official communication channels.

Beta reviews reports and takes appropriate action according to their nature and applicable law. Additional information may be requested when necessary to investigate a report, while avoiding unnecessary data collection.

If a personal data breach occurs, Beta will take the response measures required by applicable law, including notifying supervisory authorities or affected individuals where notification is legally required.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Beta may update this Policy in response to changes in its services, technologies, or legal requirements.

The updated version will be published with a revised last-updated date. Where a change requires specific notice or renewed consent, the legally required steps will be taken.

21. Contact Information and Privacy Requests

For questions, requests to access, correct, or delete personal data, objections to processing, or privacy-related complaints, users may contact Beta through the following details:

  • Declared operating entity: Money Card. The full legal name of the responsible entity must be completed.
  • Privacy email: look@lookbeta.com.
  • Account deletion page: https://lookbeta.com/setting/delete-account.

Beta seeks to handle personal data responsibly and transparently and to review its practices in accordance with the laws applicable to its users.
